Silvereye (Zosterops lateralis)
Common names: white eye or wax eye
the silvereye is a self introduced specie to Australia, native to New Zealand
A small bird the silvereye only reaches 11-13cm long and weighs 10g. The silvereye has a conspicuous ring of white feathers around it's eye, olive green wings and either a grey or olive green back. A lighter coloured throat pale grey with the under body white or yellowish.
The silvereye can be found in most areas foe example scrub land, forest and urban areas at time but does not inhabit grasslands.
the diet consist of small insects, fruits and nectar.
