The Variegated fairy wren
(Malurus lambent)
Males have a bright coloration, chestnut shoulders and a azure crown and ear converts. Females are predominately a grey -brown coloration.
The variegated fairy wren is 14-15cm long and with a weight of 6-11g. A very disperse species covering up to 90% of Australia's continent, preferred habitats include scrubland with plenty of vegetation to provided safe shelter. In other case the variegated fairy wren has adapted to each different ecosystem in Australia, to survive one of the main reasons why this bird is common across Australia.
Diet consist of small insects.
